You need to be able to rely on your fire protection system. The first thing to get right is the water supply. Whether it is a system for automatic sprinklers, foam or water mist, a complex fire service system with hydrants and monitors or just one single hydrant, QUALM ensures that everything works when you need it. From practical design to commissioning.

Fire management is most effective if QUALM is involved right from the start. The design of a fire protection system depends on so many factors that we prefer to discuss these thoroughly with you. We can then jointly come up with the best solutions.

What steps do we take?

  1. We translate the Programme of Requirements into a practical design.
  2. The choice of materials depends on the standards such as NFPA and/or FM, NEN norms.
  3. We list your requirements such as hydrants at specific locations or mains laid in a certain way. We discuss the options of your given situation in compliance with regulations.

Choice of materials
Taking your information, we will start work. Our decades of experience, enhanced by continuous training and learning, enables us to give well-founded advice, including advice on the routing and the best materials for the mains. Among the materials that we work with are the following.

  • Ductile iron – obtained from sustainable material, 100 percent recyclable.
  • GRE –  glass fibre reinforced epoxy, corrosion resistant and frequently used in industry.
  • PE – plastic pipes that are pressure resistant up to 16 bar
  • Galvanized steel pipes with grooved couplings and fittings – applicable for above-ground water mains.
