We do not stop work when your fire protection system is installed. We do the service and maintenance to ensure that your system is completely reliable, in accordance with the ITO standards set by the NFPA 25. The type of inspections we do, the frequency and the scale of inspections or repairs depend on each situation and the surroundings. A hydrant at sea is more susceptible to corrosion and needs to be replaced more quickly. An underground pipe surrounded by rubble is more likely to leak. The rule of thumb is that the more often and thorough the maintenance, the less chance there of problems.

Maintenance at the back of the mind

QUALM already builds in future maintenance in the design phase and during the installation. For example, we close trenches that we have dug with clean sand to avoid damage. And we make sure that the inspection and maintenance points remain easily accessible, whether you ask QUALM to do the inspection and maintenance or someone else. It goes without saying that we can always do maintenance work on mains that were not laid by us. An alternative is to opt for our total package.

Flushing and lubrication

While carrying out inspections, QUALM does preventive maintenance straightaway.  Our engineer lubricates connection points and valves and checks the check valve. You are required to flush your mains once or twice a year to prevent growth, dirt and blockage. And with our flow measurements we check if the required flow and pressure are available for fire protection.

Should it transpire that major maintenance is needed, for example in the case of a leak, we will install a temporary fire protection system.
You do not need to stop production and are guaranteed fire safety. Unexpected problems? Contact our repair service.

Inspection and reporting

QUALM is expert in inspection and reporting. We know the legislation governing fire safety in your sector and will make sure that you get through the official government inspections. We put your mind at rest. We issue maintenance and inspection reports which are available electronically for clients in our client portal. You always know the status of your system 24/7.
